Just bought myself a 1.6 sport from a garage, it ran fine for abit then got ma mate to look over it and...

Bolts missing from the inlet,

clutch bearings are going,

EGR was bolloxd and instead of swapping it for a new one, theyve just disconnected it, plugged a new one in and left it hanging,

They did the cambelt, but it needed a whole kit because its just slipped a tooth and is making funny noises,

brakes are warpd as f**k and nearly take my fillings out with the shaking.

I am not a happy bunny!!! Me and 2 Friends are going down there to the garage tommorow DEMANDING!!! try get some money back to pay for the problems!!! Grrr

ON THE UPSIDE?:?:?:?:

It does go alot faster than my mates 1.6 sport, and his has a full system,
4-1, decat, full magnex.
and mines standard so im happy about that.

Leave sopme comments and share my anger!!

As much as you would like to go down there acting like Billy fat rocks and 2 sidekicks, it won't get you anywhere.

surely it would have made more sense to get your mate to check it for you before you handed over any money?

It should do, as he bought it from a garage so they are covered by all the consumer law as when you buy from any normal shop.

Not fit for purpose is what Id try to argue tbh.

No I meant going down there being agressive, showing up with 2 mates isnt the right way to go about it.

Admittedly i did know about the brakes, i went round the block in it, wasnt going fast tho so it didnt seem that fast.

Apart from that it was running fine. I had a look over it a few days before and the egr wasnt like that, they kept it to MOT it, so i guessin they realised it was FOOkd and did it the, When i came to pick it up i didnt check it all agen.

My mate whos an MOT tester said it shouldt have passed on a few things.

Im not going tommy tanking it in with my mates, i jus guna play the 'Trading standards' card to them and see if they bail.

been talking to one guy who works for a trader.. he told me that any car that has a working horn will pass an MOT... mind you they are dealing with 10+k cars but still

it seem as if mot testers are more and more careless each year....

A garage has to give a minimum 3 month warranty by law.

It doesnt matter if they state that or not.

Have you got a reciept off them?
Does it say manor garage on it?

If not they could just say it was a private sale, between you and a lad who works there.

That means its there car and its not on finance or wanted by the police.

Just go there on your own and raise your concerns, and see what there going to do about it.
Dont take ten mates as they will know what your there for.

Was it modified on the exterior because the car sounds really familiar, i leave 2 mins walk from that garage.
