A little surprised this hasn't popped up yet.
My fave monthly mag EVO have put together a top 100 drivers cars.
Although this is obviously based completely on their opinions, they have driven a few cars and makes for entertaining reading.
heres the top ten
10. Mitsubishi Evo VI Makkinen
9. Mazda MX-5 1.6
7=. Ferrari F50
7=. Renaultsport Clio Trophy [2005]
6. Lotus Elan [1973]
5. Renaultsport Mégane R26.R
4. Caterham Superlight R300
3. Porsche 911 GT3 [996]
2. Lotus 340R
1. Pagani Zonda F
A few shocks for me in the 100 cars listed, no 106/saxo, no VXRs, in fact very little vauxhalls, no mazda RX7.
Lots of Renaults though, and the puma got number 99 (:cool
If you haven't read it, or don't read EVO i'd suggest grabbing a copy, its a great mag

Some lovely motors in there. The CTR isn't, but naturally the DC2 is.

erm, that was actually by EVO mag!
Its not as cut and dry at that. Its a group of people, who drive many many performance car, decide what they believe is the best drivers car, not the quickest, not the best handling, but the best driving
