Anyone do this with a group of mates or that?

Me and 2 mates started talking about maybe getting something between us for going up knockhill in, last night over some beers.

One wants a hot hatch & the other a kit car. Im not arsed either way really.

The only reservations is what happens when it needs money spent if say one person breaks something, or if it gets stacked into the tyre wall.

Just looking for ideas just now but its something thats been on my mind for a while.

The ideas good. But yeah I can see the problems arising down the line. It would need to be road legal for starters & I can see me having to chase them round with a stick when road tax or mot is due etc.

I just want some cheap track fun to see if its something I can get into!!

pick up a cheap shitter with a few months tax on it and try it out for a while.
I just got a 316 for £150 with 3 months tax left on it, plan on taking up knockhill in the next few weeks.

All depends on what your mates are like and what sort of person you are.

I couldn't do it, would end up with friendship in tatters

I could see friendship tatters also............ Which is a shame as its something we all want to do. Its just getting the financial/responsibility factor wrapped up thats the main issue.

I reckon its one of those things, better in the mind than real life.

As said, if one of you stacks it, who picks up the bill? Do you repay the rest?

If you really want a track car yourself buy one and let others pay to drive yours, rather than sharing per se.

its a decent way to get into it.... if you trust them.

If you get tired of the 3way action down the line, and/or any hassles from them being slow with cash etc you could easy buy them out, or walk away and buy our own.

I love that Astra pic, the sheer concentration on jr's face and the dreamy, eyes-closed look of Willay

For the price you could get a cheap track car I'd do it alone, it will only end in arguments when someone doesn't want to pay for something, or someone wants to use it one day when someone else is allready going to. Look at Ians puma for example, cost him about £200. You might aswell just do it alone.

Me and DaveB shared an atra GTE track car a couple of years ago, with no problems.

everything was split 50/50 and it was certainly the best way tp get started on trackdays as the cost are halfed.

If you have good mates i say DO IT
