Halfords 'Filler Primer' is not high build primer. It does not fill gaps.

It is simply a primer for filler - as in body filler

High build has the potential to remove pits and add to a neater finish.

Where as filler primer - given my understanding is correct - would act as a primer for body filler.

I can understand the difference, I just think the name has the potential to confuse people.

Its not clear otherwise whether the word Filler is a noun or an adjective and there are no literary rules broken in either case.

It should really be called Primer for Filler, as in this case it wouldn't be appropriate for the word Filler to be an adjective so it would have to describe the product of body filler rather than the process of filling things.

You could also then have Primer for Filling, using the present participle of the verb 'to fill'.

You really want to be using a 2K high build primer if you're trying to get rid of scratches in filler e.t.c... The solvent stuff tends to dry on the outside, but stay wet on the inside making a right mess.

The name suggests to me that it primes filler to be painted not to fill pits and scratches. The name (in my eyes) is not misleading.

There's one thing that confuses me with this suggestion. Filler doesn't need primer. It's best applied to bare metal or plastic which has been sanded back and prepared for a repair.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... You'd want to use high build primer for that sort of thing though, surely?

Last night Mr. (Happy Birthday too!)
