why is it no matter what happens, people always critisize the results?

all the time, people get whatever on a rolling road. some genius always says, rollers must be out, cant be true, something isnt right. i just dont get it.

what is it that you internet kids know compared to people that opperate these rolling roads? because you have a keyboard and access to wikipedia does this make you a tuning god?

no. it doesnt. i think the best course of action is for nobody ever to post up rolling road results. nobody ever to attend a rolling road day. then these keyboard tuners have nothing to slag off.

wish i knew as much as people with a dell lap top did.

every set of rollers will give a different result

if people get a high figure they are happy but if they get a low one then the rollers are out

when in some cases the low one might be more accurate

i dont see why it matters what the result is high or low. thats what the result is. if your not happy, then your car is shite or engine is shite. its nothing to do with the rollers.

i like it how ppl go to one place and its say 150 bhp and they go somewhere else and it says 155 ... then a mass argument starts over 5bhp. i bet 5 bhp would be the difference between having you headlights on or off .. its fvckall

not aimed at you nic as i know chip etc rip, but its mainly pubtalk.

main thing is that when the car goes there it comes back running spot on, your happy with it, and tbh if went from the start of the engine tuning side, then you can see what gains you get compared to each mod.

i could get my mate to change a few things on his rollers and i could get a graph that makes out that my xe is about 500bhp, but im only kidding myself as when someone comes to me saying lets race or whatever in there 200bhp xe, im going to look a twat if i get beaten

my mate took his corsa xe to the rolling road the other day,its a standard xe that has,a dodgy lamba sensor and a 3 bar fpr.

his results were 170 bhp and 200 ft/lb of torque.

how can people blatantly rig printouts like that?he still beleives it has that power too.

i should probably point out, this has nothing to do with me, or any relevance to any results i have. just before people seem to claim it is. its just a generalization after reading some posts on the internet lately that quite annoy me.

if you own a keyboard, you clearly know more than anyone else does. ever. fact.

and phillip2, your chips mate, so i take that personally tbh.

Nic i'm with you on this. I found a RR of my x16xe with cams, remap + dbilas inlet, janspeed/ full system + PVD cone...

RR= 140.5bhp!
Ftlb= 109 IIRC.

Dare i post it for the stick i'll get? Do I fuck.

Good thread though. lol

People will always question what they dont understant. Its human nature.

Also a RR is a pretty rough reading, theres too many different factors for them to be bob on every time & should be treated as not 100% accurate.

How do they work? I've aways guessed they match the revs to the wheel speed?

Graphs are only really any good for spotting any bad points in the power delivery, dips in the curve, flat spots etc.

The numbers are pretty irrelevant, if the car feels fast enough for you then great, if not, modify it for more power.
