tom, i think our cars do the same. leaked oil on the meet, and both our engines are on the down turn now, mines giving up on my slowly lol. hope you get yours sorted though

mine did that! there was a thread about it too..
it run fine when i sold it... just replace the plug and see what happens... i was lucky enough and it run ok after a enw plug.

Its been running a bit strange for the last 200 miles or so, and a bit down on power, but it still seemed ok, so I just took the plugs out to check and found that
I was planning on getting rid of the car in a couple of months anyway, splitting and selling up - I just wanted an engine to sell too
I'm just going to grab a magnetic tool tomorrow to make sure its not still in the cylinder, then throw another plug in and hope it survives

Probably a fubar'd injector ont he cylinder.
Dont bother trying to fish the bits out, they will be long gone
