my mum is 56 year old! she uses and loves my 290hp vx220, so i saw a exige that needed some work for a good price, so we went to look at them at christopher niel, looked at car the same as one i went to view and bought few days after, and also look at new evora which mum would really like, we were both disapointed in euvora, quite big compared to the exige/elise/europa, rear seats total wasted os space and boot now much bigger!

was nice to look round cars tho, so she is haveing a 2008 lotus exige s with 240 performance pack so bigger disks, traction control, etc etc! top spec one really, 0-60 in 4 sec! should be ample for her!

pic of euvora:-

pics of exige same colour and spec as one she is getting, just needs little work but alot cheaper!

she has my vx220 at the min due to me being low on money for petrol for it, lol

she loves the vx but............. prefers lotus badge! cos dad always had a thing for them!

when he passed away we sold the excel and exprit and she still has the elan! didnt take to much persuading for her to get ti really, she was quite impressed with size of boot, hehe!

not sure if she will keep or sell on, but she is provising money to get it and tidy it up! then descide wot she thinks of it!

Exige is super cool, but that Evora is lovely. Given the choice, think I'd go for the Evora over the Exige tbh.

And my mum is also deeply uncool

I think the evora looks crap and prefer the exige 10 fold. At 56 i cant help but think its wasted on her though lol.

Exige looks nice but cant help think its a bit of a waste? Im pretty sure you can get elises with the same engine/power for much less?

cant get 240 spec on the elise, 220 is best one due to no space for intercooler! also non of elises have vairable traction control which makes the car safe for mum!

i would not like mum going round in one on semi slicks without traction control on it, thats y she is perfectly save in the vx220 cos thats got tc fitted!

euvora is far easier to get in but i was pretty unimpressed but it is aimed at totally different market which is not really my kind of cars, if u have a porka u can compare them, but mum does not mind the big sill and getting in and out of the vx, elise, exige etc and is used to small boot and cramped cockpit so didint really impress her when she saw it!

Haha, I wouldn't mind being insured on a car full stop if I'm quite honest, now that the GSi has gone to the scrappers.
I do prefer the shape and flow of the body, but doubt I'd be able to get in either.

in about 4 years time she wont be able to get in and out of it! Never understood why older people sped lots of money on cars like this only to use them as a sunday driver or shopping car! exige is like a full on track weapon, theres no other reason you would buy it! surely she would have been better off with an S2000, 911, m3 or something?

she uses a vx220 everyday when she has it from me, and exige is not much different, part from beta equiped with centeral locking, electric windows, air con etc! easier to get in to also cos its not as low as vx,

on the way to lotus garage we prob saw couple of m3's, 5+ porkas, few s2000! she is like dad was in that way, does not want wot most people go for she wants to be different! and like lotus's

exige will hold its value far beta than any of the other cars mentioned,
