Need some convincing on this one. My acord is hopefully away this weekend and I've found a sierra that could be its replacement. It regularly parks in my street and just managed to get hold of the owner to see if he would sell.

Insurance is near enough the same as my accord but I just dont know whether its a huge step backwards or not.. Its white, 17" hockenheims on it and overall in good nick. Needs a petrol tank but thats not an issue..

So... convince me its a good idea..

Cracked back bumper and it needs a good clean... mileage is 180k but it had an engine at ford when it was 3 years old. So new engine has done 90k..

Exactly, but on the other hand I only use a car 2 days a week becase I have to use my works van and I dont need a car to commute. So in theory when I break it i will have plenty time to fix it..

Get it, enjoy it for a few months and get rid before any problems happen. But then again a few months is abit long for you anyway isn't it?

Well yeah, only you know if you could live with it at the end of the day. I'd have a saph personally, but it'd have to be 4x4 and clean.

it may have high mileage but as you say the engine was changed...if the owner has proof of that and has got a good enough history on the car it would be tempting...

things like petrol tanks and bumpers should be fairly ok to get hold of,as you say its a 17 year old car so isn't going to be perfect

personally i would say do it,just for the noise

You'll clean it and and say you love it and then sell it within 2 months, might as well do it because you won't be stuck with it long
