I had one as my first car for the best part of two years and loved it. No race car but pretty nippy, can turn the boost and fuelling up quite easily I believe. 45-50mpg easy. Easy enough to service etc. In fact I'd love to buy it back! Only problem I had with the actual engine was I ran it with naff all oil in it and had to have a big end bearing done but other than that brilliant car.

Wouldnt mind knowing how tunable they are, as in what kind of boost the standard turbo will take ect

IIRC you can up the fueling a boost and add a FMIC to get some decent power out of them

pretty nippy for what they are and when you turn the pump and boost up abit would give a 1.6 sport a run for its money.

Engine might be. The rest of a 1995 car might not be

nice little engine. no intercooler as standard. often wondered about about whether the intercooler and pipework from a 1.7td would fit easily (from a mk3 astra e.t.c). I think its the same block just different stroke.
