My car goes in for insurance repairs on Thursday and i have been promised a car with at least the spec of mine which is;

3L +
Automatic

Any ideas what it could be?

oh BTW way current car is a 1998 CLK 320 (would be a like for like if the car was under 6 years old )

some Hyundai shitbox thing probably. When they say same 'spec' they mean things like how many doors, electric windows and air con etc. Nothing to do with engines and performance.

My similar car to a 160bhp stripped out 2.0 16v corsa was some korean 1.1 box thing, i cant even remember what it was now

My dads van went in for work under warranty, his was meant to be like for like, he got a brand new 2.0tdi passat, that went quite well.

sometimes they just give you a car from a hire company and they dont always have what is asked for so they normally upgrade you, im thinking kia sedona

I've been given a kia sedona for a hire car before but it was asked for for an old job

My mate had his 1.1 106 in the bodyshop after someone pulled into the side of him, and he was given a V6 chrysler 300C

needless to say at the age of 18 he was more than chuffed and drove round like a PIMP for a week!

they said on the phone over 3 litres and automatic . . . i have like for like car on my insurance policy

A friend of my mum's bought a brand new M-class when they first came out and it had a couple of teething issues. When Mercedes gave her an A-class merc as a courtesy she kicked up fuck and ended up with an E-Class. Happy days.

when my Astra went in for work, i got a brand spanking new Chevorelet Matiz it was complete shite, think it was a 1.nothing, was so slow. Such a bad car.

As for what car you might get, i have no idea.
