pretty much set on getting one of these once the focus goes so just wondered what's out there with regards to tuning?

can you get them up to 200bhp+ pretty easy or is it a case of tuned as far as it can go from the factory?

i would register on cliosport but seeing as plenty people on here own them it seemed easier just to ask here

You can turbo it if you have the cash. I've been in a K-Tec one a mate used to have. It was mental! To be honest its maybe a bit too much, it becomes a bit more of a straight line monster as its quite hard to get the power down when there is 300+ bhp going through the front wheels

Tuning a 182 Ben?? No much point mate unless you go Turbo/Supercharger route.

There pretty quick in standard from when they get moving though. You'll be enjoying 30+MPG though

Just sold my 182, you won't regret getting one. Like others have said, they are not very tuneable as they are not greatly restricted from the factory, plus even though they are 182ps most come out at aroun 170-175bhp max. With a panel filter, full exhaust system from Yozza, de-cat, RS Tuning remap, you will be looking at 185bhp if your lucky, cams ontop will get you 195 max, all that will set you back around £1000. If you want 200bhp+ you will need throttle bodies/turbo/supercharger = Mega bucks.

I would say they are the middle ground in terms of speed in their class, quicker than an ST but slower than a Type R however handle better than both.

You'll be bored to tears after being used to a turbo in your focus Ben.

that's what i'm worried about really looking at CTR's like gavin's ''old'' one but just not sure whether it's worth paying more than the st on insurance for one.

just need to free up some cash and getting rid of the focus is the easiest way to do so, just don't want to be in a car that is a lot slower

If you like revving the nuts off a car to go fairly, but not realy that quick the clio is a perfect car.

When did i mention that a Type R is fast?

I have owned both, prefer the Clio but can assure you its not as fast as the Civic in a straight line, 90% of the owners on Cliosport.net will quite happily tell you this.

After driving a Type R i can honestly say the 182 was quicker...maybe in a race there neck and neck but when your driving them the 182 feels quicker.Although i'm not sure which one i'd want to OWN if i had the choice

Type Rs have a lot going for them.If i had one it would have to be supercharged.
