Looking at VXR's "astra's" atm, im not giving up my slut bucket to pay 12-15k for one, there are a few hanging around the 9-11k mark but mostly 05's with no spec and over 40k

when will the good one's drop to around the 10k mark ?

There are some cheap ones around, but as you say most are early ones with no spec and red.

My mate just bought a silver 56 plate one for £11500. It has full leather, climate control, AFL thingys and xenons. Only has 18000 miles on it too. Bargain imo. Just got to keep searching i think.

That's a rip off, you can get better deals at dealers.

Someone picked up a 57plate arden the other day 1 owner, 6,000 miles for £13,500.

If I was in your situation I wouldn't touch that car, simply because of the pictures. What a twat.

imo any astra vxr thats either not arden blue or the nurb edition, isn't immediately identifyable as a vxr. . . they dont give you the 'jizz in your pants' factor like an arden blue one or the white nurb edition. sorry if this upsets a few people but like i said, imo

although the other day i did happen to see a really nice red one, had black o.z superleggeras on and it looked spot on

I like silver or white, the added factor with star silver is it's quite rare.

Silver is the best colour for me. Makes them look less garish, but I guess thats the appeal for most people who buy the VXR's to stand out a bit.

The early ones will do, anything after 06-reg won't go pink.

Yeh just like any other red vauxhall and if you can get a 12-15 year old corsa red again im sure a 2004 red vxr wont be hard with a bit of work.

As has been said, the VXR will take a slight dive when the mk6 VXR is launched.
Apart from that, you will probably see associated seasonality price fluctuations (auction), and surprisingly the mk5 Astra has gone up in Julys book compared to June.
And iirc, the mk4 GSi didnt really tumble when the VXR was launched, they just ran a course and became 'second best' in both desirability and age when the focus was the vxr for many buyers.
