after selling my 320 petrol convertible I need a new one

daft option is buy an M3 convertible and keep my 2nd car

or

do the sensible thing and buy a 320d sport convertible and then have no need for a 2nd car (works out less about 1/3 the cost of running m3 + corsa)

Looking for something like this: http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/BMW+3+SERIES/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-51-57-87-240-4294967019-4294967078/advert.action?R=200924336195137&distance=62&postcode=dl14hq&channel=CARS&make=BMW&model=3+SERIES&min_pr=8000&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2006&vehicleRegLetter=06

6 speed returning high 50s MPG

anyone driven one though? I know what the car drives like, but is the engine OK? Need to at least try one local before I hope on the M1 to buy one miles away. Seem to keep their value OK too

I know I'll love it but most of my driving will be on 50mph roads at rush hour

and when I had the 320 I done most of my driving in the corsa as it was easier to get off the drive then get the BMW out the garage lol, spent more time cleaning it

Also why M3 or 320d........................not M3 or 330d?

Surely your not tight enough to not consider the 330d?

If you want a practical car buy one, dont make an umpractical car practical as it doesnt make sense.

The bm will cost more to service than a diesel astra for e.g, tyres will be more as will brakes etc, and for what? A slow diesel????????

Get a toy and a practical car or just buy the M3

Similar to me then

M3's by far the best for all those attributes.

TV with freeview for relaxing/showing off & 343bhp for going nice drives

The 320d engine is very nice, quiet and smooth yet punchy enough when you need it. Do it

320 is a cracking engine especially in 163 or 177 although I assume you not looking at the new shape so 177 may be out of the question

in that shape it'll be the 150bhp engine.

I've got a e46 320d, it sounds like a d reg transit and is boring as shit to drive, fuel consumption is good if you drive like a fag and tickle the throttle everywhere but if you drive normally I reckon its no more economical than the equivalent petrol model. Had mine since january and want rid already. Diesels are gay and anyone who believes otherwise is a sad sack who can't be interested in driving.

Well, I've just made myself look a cock then.

I'm just fed up of the diesel bashing, 150bhp is a fair amount of horsepower these days, we don't all need petrol guzzling 3.0+ cars.

Infact, I find that trying to use my car as it's ment to be used now days difficult.
