It's been a few days since the last one
I don't want to spend a fortune on a car, was tempted to get a 197 a few months ago but didn't because of work stuff that was going off. Things panned out pretty well as I got a promotion ( ) but I think I'd be daft to buy something new or nearly new as within a few years I'll be getting a company car. Don't want to be lumbered with finance payments!
I drove a 197 & really liked it, and from what I've read the 172/182 uses the same engine? So one of those would be a good alternative? From what I've seen if you're quick enough you can get a decent one for as little as 3-4K! That sounds really cheap
Looked on Cliosport & all people do it bitch about their own particular model & how the Cup's are such great track cars. Not right useful really. Need some advise off people who's had them in the past & know what they're like to live with
So should it be a 182 or a 172? Cup or non cup? Meh
Or something completely different? Not sure what could be had with a similar spec for that kind of money?

Trophy's are about 7.5K, don't see the value in them ones so much
You say the Cups have nothing in them, isn't it just stuff like xenons & climate control? Quite a few cars come without that as standard anyway don't they. Are the seats the same as the 182?

One of my good mates had got a 172 cup as his daily drive and loves it, he never shuts up about it and he is proberbly the biggest perfectionist i know.

172 cup doesnt have a spare wheel
all 182's dont have them either
with the cup versions you lose cc, xenons and half leather but gain slightly better suspension
trophy gets cc, recaro's and awesome suspension

172 cups come with the sorta seats you find in a 1.5 dci clio No air con, no abs or traction control. Only thing they have is power steering I think!

Cup seats are shit Matt, dead basic. The normal 172s have the half leather.

What about the normal 172's?
Durrr You already answered that one
So the 172 is the same spec as a 182? It's just that the 182 has the twin exit exhaust & those other wheels?

get a 182 with both cup packs.
that way you get a nice cruiser that you can thrash about at weekends.
rear and front spoilers
anthracite wheels and something to do with suspension?
half leather alcantara seats too

I share your pain matt I am bored of cliosport allready too
I think I am going to go for a normal 172 as from what I gather its not really any worse then the 182 and comes with all the toys. And start at around 2.5k

Get a spare wheel though
for the saving I can live without. The only reason for me to get a 182 would be to get a racing blue one as I really like that colour

Only problem with a 172 cup is there is no abs. Might just be me been a girl but I wouldnt want a quick light car without it for day to day use.

Didnt notice the spoilers been different myself but I think you are right now. bigger spoiler or not its half the price of 182's so I can spend the money on fixing it
