I am currently hunting a new car to replace my 04 civic type r which sadly met its maker a couple of weeks ago.

Now I am looking to spend about 4 to 5k or a little more if the right thing comes up.

My top three at the moment are:

Another civic type r
I loved mine to bits in the time I owned it and it ticked all of the right boxes. Just not sure if I want another as it might not feel the same and I might try something else.

A clio 182/172
Test drove a few of these last time I was looking and the civic only won due to the extra size and driving position. But these are more car per £££ and I think they could be better on track then the civic due to their smaller size.

Integra DC2
A rawer more driver based civic if they are as good as the hype they should be amazing only thing is I still think they are a bit ugly and they are getting on now.

What would you do? And any other choices that I am over looking of fun out the box cars? BTW needs to be insurable for a 21 year old

Gavin

ITR is no better than the civic, they are the best handling fwd car money can buy but lack the grunt you want from such a car.

Other options:

Cooper S

MK4 Astra GSi

Fiat coupe turbo

From what people have said the dc2 is miles more of a drivers car

cooper s could be in with a shout but I dont want to be like the other 90% of people at work and have a mini or a fiesta st

Newer shape isnt out the question but I didnt really want to spend that much and its not worth the extra money over a ctr imo. Plus insurance would be alot more.
