basically i know a bloke who owns the forum which i use ( octane styling ) and hes very very hanmdy with a spanner and has been workin on his cars for years... hes not long since started octane but i have used it since the start and been very friendly wih him...
i recieved a call from him stating that he wants to supercharge my car for free!!
basically he wants to release a range of products etc for mounts and piping for supercharger conversions and wants to use my car as a demo as he needed the z14xe engine..
he wants me to basically buy the parts needed and he will carry out all the labour free of charge in order to use my car as a demo for the conversion!
weve worked out the parts ( he gets these at manufacturers cost ) to be around 850.00 ( eaton supercharger will be bought second hand from a cooper-s )
just wondering if there are any more supercharged 1.4 corsa c's around
so excited what a bargain!

he's doing you over is he not?
so you pay for all the parts and he just fits them?
that's hardly getting a supercharger for free mate
other companies such as piper actually fabricate prototype exhausts to cars which they need for free, only thing you have to do is drive the car there and get a lift home.

So basically he wants to use you to see if his idea works, or blows your engine and you pay for the privilege. Sounds like a bad deal to me!

My thoughts exactly!
You're not really getting a good deal out of that at all! If he wants to use your car as a demo car, he should buy all the bits and fit them to your car F.O.C

no hes done this on a 1.2 before for a cuatomer but basically wanted to do a demo car.... i had been talking to hi previosly and told him that i was looking at a dbilas inlet for 1k but couldnt justify it for such a simple mod..... next i know he gives me a call and offers to carry out a supercharger conversion on my car if i want it but i will need to buy the parts.. its not as if hes just randomly called cos im an idiot ( although i know some will disagree )

eaton is a big charger in terms of size, ideally you'd buy a rotrex and do it on the 1.8

i will have to lose the air con unit in order for it to fit..
were still in discussions at the min but basically everything i need is included.. i.e intercooler, charger, charger mounts, piping, fuelling ( bigger injectors or megasquirt... not decided or finalised yet )management etc

tbh with you there just a forum more than anything but the owner ( mick ) is a friend and has been working on cars for years ( he has a bravo hgt at the min runnin around 300bhp on nitrous ) its just that he has offered so i thought all the free labour i might aswell take it...
the site is retty poo but cant really take it on face value and judge it by the forum
