Few days late but hey ho, been a bit busy!

In no particularly order:

Big thanks to willay for his sterling efforts and coordinative ability in promoting and selling a vast number of tickets in various configurations some weekend, some day, some showing, some pass only, whatever it was as far as I'm aware everyone got exactly what they ordered with no errors and we were able to pay for in full and deliver three grands worth of tickets to everyone who wanted one. He should be thanked gratuitously particularly in relation to his ability to deal with delays and lateness and still accommodate all requests.

Furthermore and despite some very tough conditions indeed, him and jr were able to organise the stand layout on both days, most impressively on the Sunday when despite having a few random cars about the place and the most abysmal weather I have ever seen at a show, we ended with the trademark CS colour arrangement which always looks fantastic, this time being no exception.

Next up is Ste W who you will all agree put in a full weekend of chef time for proper quality breakfast and dinner meals. What may not also be apparent is that Ste also put the work in to calculate, order, store and transport the food as well as organising all the preparations such as ensuring sufficient gas and cleaning products were on hand to cook the stuff properly and hygienically. You also may not be aware but Ste is basically in charge of storage of all the CS gear while it's not at shows and not only did he take time out around his night shift sleep patterns to organise work on the trailer to ensure it was safe to travel but he also packed the majority of the gear in there in the days preceding the journey. Logistically this man cannot be beaten and the sheer volume of hardware which we as a club own is a direct testament to his involvement.

I must also thank tom_simes for being entirely on hand for whatever came up. Tom also doesn't care about getting wet and as such was invaluable throughout the weekend. Many thanks mate.

Then to someone who you may not know as she's not on the board but AdamFs misses, Emily, needs an equally large thank you. You may have seen her working alongside Ste in preparation of the food and generally taking charge of everything else domestic. As far as I'm aware she didn't stop working all the time she was there either, which is a massive help given the scale of the catering operation. Many thanks.

There are a great many other people as well, most notably every single person who brought a car to the stand and made it what it was. It is only possible because people invest the time and money in making the journey down there. Special mention must go to anyone who, despite some pretty appalling weather was still out there cleaning the mud off and getting things looking presentable. I already thanked Nick (GSi_16v) personally on the day but I'll do it again here. I was proud to have such a well turned out car at the front of the stand, particularly after seeing it after leaving the camp site. And he isn't alone, although I don't know everyone well enough to name more people here I am fully aware that a lot of work went in to cleaning things up and it certainly showed. Thank you.

Must also mention Rich H and his assistant at this point of course, who got fully involved in what must have seemed a daunting task of cleaning everything that they were asked to do. Not the best conditions for it but still definitely a worthwhile service which a number of members took advantage of.

We also have some new members who showed with CS for the first time to mention. I think I spoke to most people who I've not met before. The first show is always the most difficult as things can be a bit unclear as to what happens and what is expected, but I think everyone who came along for the first time got right in there and made the most of everything. So thanks. As I also discussed with the D owners, I'm very keen to get newer stuff represented and I was very pleased when the Arctics turned up. Hope those guys come on board for the longer term as you will agree, having C and D in attendance really raises the bar in terms of how CS is perceived and how it will grow in the future. I'm grateful for the support in this regard.

I'll probably think of more people so if you're not in this post, wait for your reply

Hope everyone enjoyed the show. The next event is the September Weekender which comprises of:

Castle Combe Performance Car Action Day - Saturday, September 5th 2009
Trax at Silverstone Circuit - Sunday, September 6th 2009

There will be information about both of these forthcoming. You can do either or both of the days. May I urge people to commit early in order that way may be clear on numbers and get tickets booked and sold with the minimum of fuss. Rest assured you will be afforded everything you have come to expect from a CS show, namely food, banter, company and a jolly good day out.

On behalf of the rest of the team who helped out at PVS, I'd like to thank Ian for all his hard work. From speaking to lots of our members on the stand over the weekend they all loved it and despite the weather, everybody I spoke to could only say good things about the organisation of the stand, along with the free food and drink which was almost constantly flowing from the campervan.

I'd also like to reiterate Ian's thanks to Willay, jr, Ste W and Emily, as without these people, the event would not have been as successful as it was.

Finally, on a personal note Ian - I was more than happy to help as much as I could over the weekend, and will do so again in the future wherever possible, with my full support and assistance available for both Combe and Silverstone in September.

Oh, and Ian, getting wet really isn't an issue when you are dressed as I was - full coastal sailing gear comes highly recommended from me

Thank you Ian, and all your team for a brilliant saturday, I certainly had a fantastic time, and it was sure nice to meet you. I don't know who it was who helped to get my car parked up properly on the stand, but you did a fantastic job of that, and seemed very well organised.
I also was amazed at the efforts you went to, to make CS, I'd say the best stand at the show, and the BBQ was very good. I'm pleased to say it was nice to see part of where my £12.50 goes.
I'm only sorry I didn't really get to speak to many people, and that I couldn't make the Sunday as well.
I look forward to doing it again some day!
Thanks all!

You're welcome mate. After my few short strolls around on both days, I must say, we were by far the best stand at the show.

But who was the clert that stole our HP sauce on the Saturday leaving us without it for the bacon??

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Once again, CS the best stand there, both visually and with the people there.

I wasn't as involved this year as I have been due to bad health, but I'd also like to thank the staff for the amazing service.

Keep it up guys, see you ALL at Combe

Was a great day even despite the crappy weather as cs banter and free bacon and tea is all you need

Its hard organising any event which involves 20-30+ people and cars attending, but to do it in such terrible weather takes a lot of patience and motivation and I think everyone on cs is grateful to all staff members as it was still organised like any other event....perfect

Look forward to Trax :thumbs

Have mentioned it in various PVS related threads, but may as well in here too!

Huge thanks to all the usual crew (Ian, jr, Willay etc) and also big thanks to Tom, Ste, Emily etc for their multitasking and awesome cooking. Thanks to Tom and Phi for making sure me and my mate were fed too

Thanks too all those who booked me to clean their cars - sorry to all those who didn't get them done in the end - the weather really put a spanner in the works! I also naively went there thinking that other stands wouldn't be interested. Got that wrong! Ended up doing some of CC|UK and most of the stand behind us - C-Vox

Was an awesome weekend, shame the weather was so poor on the Sunday AM, but was good to put a lot of names to faces, if I wasn;t as busy as I was, I'd have been joining in the banter more!

Cheers

See you all at Trax!
