Escort RS

They are only fetching about £1k-2k now, and look great

only downside = no power steering, but supposedly theres an aftermarket power steering package taken from a diffrent car (think the parts are from vauxhall cars)

Depends on the price limit really.

205 gti with an mi16 in it makes for a fun track car, as does an XR2i with a 2.0 zetec. You could strip a cav or vectra out and make a btcc replica... anything you want really.

they are NOT cheap to run..... and dont think you could get one worth having for 1k

If you are wanting a cheapo trackcar.... that will be cheap to keep on the track... It MUST be light and small. Bigger cars will go through tyres and brakes much quicker. Never mind the general increase in price for buying decent suspension for an Impreza (for example)

Not a cheap 1k track car
