Do a track day. That is the only real, legal place you can take your car flat out.

Failing that, fly it to Dubai

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Airfields are essentially boring.

100mph will feel like 40 if there's nothing to hit.

Plus you can't really do a top speed run because you'll generally run out of road.

Do a track day. Weekend Racer are doing Combe again in September if you're up for that. It's a great day.

Bruntingthorpe.

You'll only get in there if there's something going on, and you can't just book it as a member of the public.

Try the M58 about midnight on a Saturday night, thats where I've taken all my cars for top speed runs. Its dead at the best of times but Saturday night has tumbleweed blowing across the carriageway its that quiet lol
Not trying to hi-jack the topic but highest speed runs down there are:
206mph on a full power Suzuki Hyabusa,
165mph in a DC5 Integra type R and
152mph in my Cav

Erm yeah! lol
If I'd come off I would have gone past jail and staight to death! lmao
In saying that people have got caught doing 170mph at 3am in a morning and got just 3points and 60quid fine, dosent just depend on the speed. Time of day, volume of traffic and other mitigating factors are taken into account

Bollocks they did, if anyone was caught at 170 regardless of time they'd be locked up.

M6 Toll is usually dead, and you can get a nice launch out of the booths

If they made this fuss about 156.7mph I imagine we'd have heard about someone clocked at 170, especially if they got off with 3 points and £60!

They did a few years. A guy in a Honda NSX blasted down a motorway at half two in the morning doing 170mph plus and got 3points and a 60quid fine

And furthermore I got pulled racing into a 30mph zone at 125mph plus one Friday night after going to a cruise in Liverpool at Kings Docks after being followed my a top of the range AMG Merc with two blokes in it that was glued to my back bumper from the outskirts of Liverpool along the Woodvale bypass towards Southport. The way the car was following seemed dodgy so I planted it and tried to outrun them only to find out it was an unmarked drugs survailance car.
When I got out the car he gave me a stern grilling and then told me to slow down. I got no producer, no ticket and I'd just gone into a 30mph zone doing over four times that speed limit and got off with just a slap on the hand and I have witnesses to justify this, one who is a member on here
