Got myself a Ducati 748!
Tbh, its been a bike i've dreamt of having since i first saw the classic design of the Ducati 916 back in '94. I did once have a 748R when i was 19 doing some racing/trackdays, but back then i didn't really appreciate what i had. Now i'm a bit older i can do that.
After having a quick go on a mates 748 i realised that i still wanted one bad, and had to get one. First port of call was to have a look round dealers show rooms and see if there were any in and get a rough idea on prices etc then go on to sell my R6 privately. But that didn't happen, as i arrived at the dealers i went to, this 748 was just being delivered to them. It was a very rare example of a bike this age - 1 owner from new (since 1995), full Ducati service history, and had only done 857 miles in those years!! It was like a brand new bike from the past. Did a bike of haggling with the dealers which ended with it being a straight swap for the R6. I got the bike re-serviced including the cam belts changed, new battery, brand new set of sticky tyres, paddock stand and 6 months warrenty. Now i know a lot of you are thinking its madness to swap a 2007 bike for a 1995 bike, but the R6 is always going to go down in value whereas the 748 will drop a little then rise a bit due to its now classic staus. Plus the insurance is over half the price! £262 FC!
Anyway, pics...

Plans are to keep it mint and add a few removable luxuries, such as carbon bits and a single seat unit.

Not yet as the cluch it really quiet at the moment with it being so new. Once its properly run in then it'll sound proper Ducati, especially when i get an open carbon clutch cover.
Richc, think about it this way, the R6 in another couple of years with double the mileage - around 14k will be worth around £2.8k whereas the 748 with say 7k miles will be worth £4k as long as its still mint imo

I knew that was going to be said!
Carbon 45mm Termis= £800+
Titanium 50mm Arrows = £360
They do the same job, sound the same, its just the name tbh. Arrow's still have a very high quality, and if i stuck a Termi sticker on them, no one would know the difference...
its a bit like Irmscher this and that on here

your a ducati owner now, everything needs to be polished daily, and you need to spend insane amounts of money on obscure bits.
get cracking

That is fucking wonderful. A bike I've always wanted to own too! You got a good deal imo. But it won't be cheap to service and maintain that's for sure

Nothing wrong with Arrow exhausts
Spanking!!!! 07 R6 or 95 748?? No contest, you have made the right choice.
748 S isn't it? Red is a rarer colour on the 748's as well too?

I looked at buying one of these a few years ago in yellow when I was gonna do my bike test but the constant shitty weather put me off both
There soooo small compared to a 600cc bike as well which I liked
