I was thinking about this the other day!

Then thought to myself, do they really need one when they have two very similar vxr's in vextra and monaro format?

Looks very sexual though.

Looks ok side and rear but the fronts a bit odd.

Still prefer the new S4.

It's Haldex, like Audi's Quattro and VW's 4motion, it'll be absolutely fantastic.

Unfair comparison though as they don't even cost the same. Or at least I don't imagine they would!

I like it

It is being compared to the S4 though!

If you click on one of the tabs to the right it says "The Insignia VXR is aimed right at the Audi S4"

also on other sites its saying similar things. pistonheads for example

I personally prefer that to the S4 if I'm honest! Not really Audi's biggest fan though!

Amazing. The strides Vauxhall/Opel have made in just 10 years are just amazing.

Compare this to a Vectra B

that right i have just got email from vaulhall vxr department today and heres what came with it sorry if im late

Dear Adam

As a VXR enthusiast, we want you to be the first to hear about the latest addition to the VXR stable. Packing 325 horsepower, a sophisticated four-wheel-drive chassis and a sub-six second 0-60 time, Vauxhall’s new Insignia VXR is set to take things by storm this summer.

Honed on the track
Based on the acclaimed 2009 European Car of the Year, Insignia VXR will appear in hatch, saloon and Sports Tourer body styles, featuring adaptive 4X4 technology and a bespoke chassis honed on Germany’s gruelling Nürburgring circuit.

Controlled power
At its heart beats an advanced 2.8-litre V6 Turbo engine that produces 325PS. Controlling this sort of performance requires something equally special – like Vauxhall’s innovative ‘HiPerStrut’ (High Performance Strut) front suspension system and electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) technology. Unique to VXR, HiPerStrut not only reduces torque steer but also maintains a negative camber during cornering – meaning superior grip in both wet and dry conditions.

Bespoke VXR design
Insignia’s purposeful styling has been given the VXR treatment. Wrapping around all its thoroughbred technology is a deep bumper that sports imposing mesh grilles, while to the rear, a subtle spoiler and a bespoke bumper featuring distinctive dual matt VXR chrome exhausts hint at VXR’s trademark poise.

Providing the calm at the centre of this perfect storm is a purposefully understated VXR interior, where Recaro front seats and new VXR-branded steering wheel, gear knob, and sill plates await.

The Insignia VXR hits Vauxhall Retailers this summer. In the meantime, get the lowdown on all things VXR here.

It's not all about getting maximum horsepower. They will want it to be quick, but driveable too!
