Hogwash. You can have the airflow and have it hidden dependant on bumper etc.. Mine had 240bhp and i had mine hidden with no issues of heatsoak. Just like when manafacturers make turbo cars they dont have stupid great oversized intercoolers hanging off the front of the car awaiting tthe fins to be bent by road debris.

In 99% of cases it looks chavvy

evo's do look very chavvy

if you dont have airflow, its not as efficient as it could be jambo. there is no hogwash discussion about that. thats just the fact. no issues of heatsoak? you know this how exactly? did you monitor inlet air temps? im guessing not. therefore you dont actually know if you had heat soak issues at all and your reply in its entirety is hogwash.

Nic you have missed my point, an Evos intercooler is hidden It maybe "visible" behind the big bumper and mesh protecting it. But i am reffering to the chav trend of i have a turbo and want everyone to know so i will cable tie my Iveco cargo intercooler on the front of my corsa cos it looks wicked innit.

Another example 335i (turbo)

Maybe they should have strapped it on the front

forgetting the fact all manufactured turbo cars have a far far larger engine bay thana corsa does. i think hiding it is only going cause more issues. i know when mine was hidden, the inlet temps were a hell of a lot higher, which isnt good.

i havent missed your point, youve missed the whole of my reply whereby you claim you didnt suffer any heatsoak, when i think all your doing is banding that word around without even understanding what it means. you will never ever have had under bonnet or inlet air temps checked on your corsa have you?

small engine bay, heat soak and hiding an intercooler just isnt the best of things to do. an intercooler with 10% of core exposed to air isnt going to be as efficient as one with 70% is it? hiding it to look stealth and look sleeper is stupid. its designed to do a job. let it do that job. id rather look chavy and be efficient thanks.

If the car runs fine and drives fine does it really matter if its hidden?

you could remove an intercooler replace it with a straight bit of pipe and it would run and drive fine.

i know fine well you know the answer to that. id also imgaine you'd be able to understand cooling efficiencies of intercoolers with no exposed cores. id also believe you understand heat issues with bigger engines in corsa bays, and basically your just being stupid for no reason.

I dont know the answer to that that why im asking. I could take an educated guess and say that it would loose loads of power is that right? Becasue if that is then i would not class it as running and driving fine!

but it would run and drive fine. it wouldnt perform well when needed. but it would still run and drive fine. can take the pipe off my inlet, and run the car, and drive it and its fine. doesnt perform anywhere near it should. but it still runs and drives fine.

oldskool nissan bluebird turbo's had no intercoolers.
