Had it on the market for just over a year and someone came today and bought it Just under asking price but happy with the price, bearing in mind how hard it's to sell atm.
Quick Question!
Im going to the bank with him tommorow, where he's going to his first and getting a bankers draft cheque and then onto mine to deposit it there and then. Question is, would i know its cleared by my bank on that day? And be able hand over the keys, with knowledge that cash is in the bank?
Thanks!
Now need to find something to buy, max 5k this time!

Nope, will take at least 3 days to clear, took mine a week, if you go with him to take the draft out it's as good as cash though, it can't be cancelled except by you.

Exactly. Once a bankers draft is made out the money is the banks money and not actually his so it cant be cancelled mid transaction after you handing it in to your bank. But if your going to his bank first, why not just get the cash instead? Then its garanteed??

Bank is open on Saturday until 12pm here!
Could get cash suppose, wouldn't feel safe carrying that amount of cash across town though!

Of just use the bankers draft which is the commonly used method of money transfer in a private sale with so much money involved?
Why risk carting about a suitcase of fivers?

Is that right?
I knew dealerships are funny about accepting large amounts of cash but I didnt think there was any law involvement

That can't be, how can it be illegal to pay with cash.
Dealerships might refuse nowadays, they certainly don't like it but not illegal.
