Evening all!

I've been having a nosey around Pistonheads and these are pretty cheap now. Is this for a reason? I know little to nothing about Alfa's but I can't help but think these are a bargain. Anyone know anything about them?

I'd be looking at the V6 or the 2litre T spark I think Usual Alfa story of it'll break ever 10mins?

I think I need one in my life, more specifically this one: clicky

It will probably need parts regularly.

I took an Alfa off my dads hands when I needed a cheap runner & ended up spending a fair bit on it.

I honestly know nothing about them. I'm in the market for a new (to me!) car and fancy something a bit different. Plus the interior is awesome IMO

Not just servicing, I took it to an independant place for that.

It was alot of things that broke all at once & a costly mot.

This was 2yrs ago & on an R plate so similar age to what your looking at, at that time.

Mine had rust on the chassis legs & all sorts, unknown when I took it on.

Aye, cost a good bit in the 8 months or so I had it. My old man had owned it from new prior to me taking it off him and didnt have much go wrong.

Cheers dad!!

My mother had a GTV when they came out, was a fab car for a short period of time, then all manner of things went wrong and she soon got shot.

All sorts of expensive bits breaking etc. Getting them to serviceable/MOT standard will cost considerable amounts over time.

Of course, opinions only from my experience.

I think you do.

I love mine, given my dad it for the next few days so he can have a go - he dropped me off home & instantly had a grin right along his face.

Asked me for a copy of the ins doc's 'incase I need them'. Worrying!!

go for the v6 and full history is a must! the 2.0's are crap.
as for the rest of the car the subframe bushes are know to go in no time and there are a few other suspension problems but generaly speking get the newest one with the lowest millage you can as they dont wear well but are a really good drivers car.

Exactly, plus im soon to be making the petrol so its in my interest to use it to keep myself in a job -> my reasoning to having a big engine

What engine is it?? You sure its returning 500 miles to £45 (whats that 50L?) ...........I barely got 500 miles from my GT tdi with its 55L tank!!
