You have to be retarded to let yourself be seen driving one.

In a thread, a Honda S2000 owner, a VX220 owner and an RX7 owner. Honest question (no flames) but what position would each three be in a race. Opinions from people who actually own the cars that is.

EDIT: Around a circuit that is.

Let's just say a lap around Brands Hatch, all three cars standard. I'm not trying to race your individual cars, but just the models themselves. I've got some money saved up for a sports car that I'd use for road and track use, and I'm just weighing up my options.

VX220 Turbo with a decent driver would probably be first.
Rx7 second (unless tuned highly)
S2000 quite a way behind

Although may I add... I think a lot will depend on drivers.

I mean, a s2000 could probably beat a VX220 and a rx7 around a track. If the driver in the s2k is good and the other cars are 'average'.

Most people on paper would've said my 106 gti would've lost to a lot of cars on paper, but I beat countless cars on track in it.

So it's not as 'cut and shut' as ... 'which would be better'. Just look at the criteria you want overall, remember you said you wanted it as a road car as well as a track car... Reliabilty may be an issue with the rx7 and practically / day to day living could be an issue with vx220?

If your having it as a 2nd car the VX is perfect. If its your everyday car there is a lot you need to put up with like crap heater, hard to get in and out of, its noisy at anything over 40mph and the fact that 90% of people driving on the road are completly oblivious to you from there high up 4x4s and people carriers.

I use mine everyday

However, I couldn't afford one

I'm over 370bhp and just under 1300kg. Tight circuit like Brands, I reckon Adam would edge me more down to track experience though. Paul wouldn't be far off me I don't think as I'm the less experienced of the lot.

why do people insist of taking the piss out of me for that.. i was just pointing out the obvious.

i think people rule out the NA too quickly,
