(he looked confused when I arrived at the meet in it)
I didn't realise I hadn't put a proper thread up yet saying I had bought a s2000.
Cut long story short, I wanted a more 'grown up' / economical (30-35mpg driven nicely) / still fun to drive / still as quick in straight line or round bends as my 106 gti / track car / that wasn't boy racer / or too big...
With that criteria... I decided upon ... A S2000. It's not the fastest car in the world, but it ticks all the above points, which is why I got it. That said, I had loads of fun in it today sliding it sideways (well slightly ) around roundabouts... RWD
Anyway, pics below:
At the meet today:

When I bought it:

At night time in a carpark:

alot of car for the money
Will be going around Castle Combe on the 25th of April and nurburgring in may

jr was driving it? (JOKE!)
Nah Davey, I think your car would've been quick, S2000's arn't that fast. My 106 gti was all over it on the way home (me in the 106 and my dad in the s2000) tho vtec probably hadn't kicked in
What spec is your 1.8?

But the S2000 will go sideways without going into a ditch unlike a Clio

Yes.
Well, OJC and me had a rolling start drag race on the a33 on the way back. and we were dead level to 121 mph. Which surprised me, I expected him to pull past me.
However, I've driven the s2000 and then driven my 106 gti with cams and the 2 feels fairly similar speed wise. S2k probably has better top end though.

Yeah it was within a 'spotted paul_j' thread someone made. I just thought I'd make a proper one, as half the people at the meet didn't realise i had bought one and thought my avatar pic was one I dreamt of getting.

Thats the problem I've got.. I'm running an F13CR and I'm doing just over 120 on the limiter (private road ofcourse)..
Spanks BenKid's redtop to about 60/70 then he eats me alive when I run out of "5th gears"

Stripped out though? You coming to combe? Are you from Reading?
I'm going to meet up with my mate to show him my s2k probably some time later this week, I usually 'test drive' my cars around whinnersh triangle, near show case - I'll u2u you and let you know if you want? I'd be interested to see how quick your car is. The new owner of my 106 gti (also from Reading) may be able to come out and destroy us all

Stripped out and its the BOTTOM of the range. less than 900kg with me sat in it.... Going to combe not sure how hard i'll play on the track.. Its got to get me home
Like I said its much quicker than a redtop to 60/70 then the red top eats me alive
I need a rear ARB too, back end is so light and the rear rolls like a bitch

interesting mate. I only realise who you were when I saw your car leave and I said 'was that Pip?'. I was hoping to see your dad's Ferrari 355
Why what's the advantage of taking the air box off? Does it stop it stuttering / kangerooing at low revs? Power gain? (what about heak soak though?) - Which honda do you work at? mine's due a service... I also want the gearbox / diff oil changed as I think it's never been done.
