was looking at a LCR on a 03 plate which was ok, then I noticed the dealer had an 05 plate scooby for the same money with much lower miles. Was nothing flashy, just a standard black wrx .

These seem to be alot of car for the money, I need my car to commute, does anyone know what mpg these return if driven like a granny? If it can do 30 I may take a punt on it.

Also how reliable are they, il stick a zorst and filter on it but won't be 'boostin it up'

good motors very reliable, not bad on fuel if drove with right frame of mind which is the same as any car. Excellent to drive , handling great and lots of fun.

Nightmare for thieving scum bags as they stand out, i have owned quite a few imprezas and cant knock them, especially something so new as long as you service it and look after there will be no problems

I drive slow on my commute due to traffic (sit at 40 on a duel cw for most of it), on the weekends my little clio gets a spankin

tbf I also had high hopes for conservative driving mpg.

Long journeys at 65mph odd I still get c. 23/24 mpg. 30mpg is hugely optimistic IMO.

Didn't matter how nice I drove my STI, still always less than 20mpg. That wasn't my concern when buying it tho.

Then again, they're hard to drive sensibly

a few friends have had old and new scoobs and say the service costs are less than most other normal cars.

belts are really easy to do because everything is at the front. at the end of the day whether you buy a scooby or a 1.1 fiesta theres a chance your gonna break down at some point so why not have some fun in the meantime!!!!

once scoobyroo had fixed the niggles of the earlier engines ie. the melting (chocolate) pistons due to them moving horizontally, they are a brilliant engine true work of art.

if i were in your position then i'd go for it, even if you only keep it 12months atleast it will be an experience.

what are your requirements from a car anyhoo? just wondering whatelse you have been looking at.
