what do you reckon you would get if you got caught doing 46mph in a 30mph zone on a speed camera....

and the police sent you a letter saying they are going to prosicute.... the letter has a load of info on the back that you need to fill out about who the driver was, etc

just out of pure curiousty

Unless you get lucky and get the driving course option you will get at least 3 points and a fine.

Edit: I managed to get away with nothing after i got flashed in a tunnel in london and received an NIP through the post

3 points & £60 for:
37 in a 30
and again for
66 in a 50.

It says on the NIP what you're going to get.

What he said.

Is it your first offence? Not that it matters, as you are effectively over a barrel.

Willay: was in my corsa x14xe

JoeyB: Yea my 1st offence, been driving 3 years. Got a laywer to plead my licence as i am an almost qualified Toyota Tech and i need to drive/diagnose for work. Its not just loosing my job, it will ruin my future career and everything ive studied for the past 3 years would be a waste.

They said i should expect a big fine & points and maybe driving school & maybe a 28 day ban.

We shall see...

It could go either way.

I once got caught doing 65mph in a 30mph limit. I already had 3pts for speeding. It also turned out my insurance had expired the day before I got caught....

Obviously had to go to court. I wore a suit, took a letter from my employer stating how I needed a car for work etc. By rights I should have received 6pts for an IN10 and 6pts for excessive speeding. I got a combined 6pts and a hefty fine. I was very lucky as the judges took leniency on me.

However, a year or so later I got caught doing 85mph on a 70mph limit. Had to go to court as I already had 9pts. I pulled the same stunt as before, suited and booted, letter from the employer etc...this time they threw the book at me and gave me the 6 month ban for totting up. I got a roasting from them too.

So it depends on the mood of the judge really.

I haven't had any more convictions in the 5 years since my ban, it was one of the worst times of my life!! Not having a car is horrible. I certainly (eventually) learnt my lesson.

Second offence within two years? 114mph average? You will be lucky to avoid prison let alone a 28 day ban.

sp30
3 points
£60 quid fine

and slightly raised premiums next year, but i dont think insurers care if you have a sp30, if you want to know what difference your looking at, quote yourself on a compare site with a clean liscence, then quote again with a sp30
