Before i start this thread id like to say a BIG THANKS YOU TO DAVEYLC who has stood by me on this conversion and helped me with every single problem, let alone lending me parts on a trust basis.

I had a oilpump and crank sensor bracket fitted on Saturday and while fitting that my local mechanic noticed insulation on the cam sensor wire has failed. so that was replaced today and its running properly now

Im still full of adrenaline now

Here are the pics:

Looking good! Something different in a corsa engine bay. Next step is getting it tuned to pull the best from it.

Is the exhaust manifold the same as on the 1400/1600's?? So is it just a standard system basicly?

Its a great feeling when the engine conversion comes together and it all starts! well done.

totally agree with you, dave can tell you, iv been stressed for days!!

yeah its a standard system apart from it has a decat, you can get a good exhaust system that warrens got, but you need a 1.6 sump. we will soon find out if the 1.6 oil pump fits.

Its very different as the heads are totally different.. I'm running a Corsa C tubular manifold that clears the 1.8 sump:

The 1.6 wants to go through the sump, I'm re-building another 1.8 on which im going to probably use the 1.6 pump, pickup and sump so I can use a proper manifold with nice long headers.
