Has anyone ever bought a car from Motorpoint?
I am looking on their site now & I am seeing 09 delivery miles -
Impreza WRX - £13k
Honda S2000 - £17k
Choice of colours & UK spec.
Theres a branch in Glasgow I might go for a look at.

RS - The fuckers have put the prices up by almost £800 & ordering today wont see the car until possibly next year some time - depending on when they get round to making them. Ford seem such a crap company to deal with, id rather buy a used one off a man in the street, though that wont happen any time soon either - almost knocked that idea on the head as it seems almost impossible.
M3 - OLD. I dont want an old car!
Im now looking at what new to 2yr old cars pose the best bargains right now.

I looked at this today as its just down the road -
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/HONDA+S2000/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-143-177-240-4294962065-4294966904/advert.action?R=200901326329637&distance=2&postcode=fk3+9ar&channel=CARS&make=HONDA&model=S2000&min_pr=&max_pr=20000&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2007&vehicleRegLetter=07
But ive noticed now Motorpoint do brand new ones for that price.

Are they definately full UK spec cars? I thought Motorpoint and other car-supermarket type companies bought cars in bulk from Europe/other left hand drive countries and may not necessarily be full UK spec.
Put it this way, I'd be surprised if they were official UK cars with 10k off the price brand new - at that price you could probably take it straight to a regular dealer for a profit tbh.

Colin get an S2000 and enjoy
Lots of bargins if you dont mind a year or so old and a few miles on it. Will lose less if you want to chop it in for an RS in a year or so then
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

I 'think' some of them may be Imported from Europe, however the spec will be to UK standrds or better. What cars dont come off a boat from Europe these days anyway, im not too fussed by that.
Also I 'think' your the 2nd owner as Motorpoint pre-register them, which basically allows them to sell them at such a huge discount.

Been looking at them today, sat in a couple but couldnt have a drive as they were all flat from sitting over winter, so the salesman said anyway id have thought they would have them ready to knock out the door in the freakishly good weather were having just now!!
Theres 07 plates for 17-18k with less than 1k miles on offer, im not exactly sure why the silly low miles but they seem like a good buy!!

You think so?
Im gutted that they have messed up the sales of the RS so much as if I could have walked in & drove out with one I would have done so by now. As it stands theres folk ordered last December still dont know when their cars coming. My local Ford dealer claim to know nothing about the car & can only snigger that I should have been in earlier as there sold their 2009 allocation. Shame as I was really wanting one!! I still may get one 2nd used once out of Fords hands at some point!!

Not the best you had your heart more or less set, but i don't think you will regret it in the long run (unless you are unlucky with the car you buy next, but that is always the risk). Like you have said there will always be an option to buy one at a later date.

Dont you think it will be any good Adam? 300bhp, all the motoring mags are daft on it.
Apparently a mountune upgrade to 360bhp is to be on offer aswell!!
As its going it doesnt look like im going to be able to get one & I cant be bothered waiting for next year for one.

Yeah I did but it seems you need a secret handshake & alot of patience to get one. That added to the fact they can see fit to ramp up the aksing price before they can ramp up production makes me a bit bitter about the whole thing.
If one comes up used at a decent price i'll have it no doubt about it.

I went to Motorpoint pre purchasing my WRX elsewhere.
I ended up walking out on the salesman.
The prices on the website really don't represent anything near what you would need to pay.
Mostly non UK cars, yes 'UK spec' but don't come with alarms/entertainment stuffs, regular warranty unless paid extra for etc...
On the face of it a good deal, but in reality costing just about as much as anywhere else does.

Its probably worth it, one of the big advatages is they have most in stock right there. So you can go and sit in whatever takes your fancy and play around with it and see colours side by side etc.
I potentially just had a bad experience/was just in a mood that day. Just keep your head screwed on and don't get railroaded by the salesmen.
I ended up dealing with 'motor depot' A car supermarket in Hull. And I cant fault them, really went out their way to accommodate my demands!

I just think its a big waste of money for a 'new' hatch back. Wait a year or two..... but 2nd hand and let some other chump loose the ££££'s on it

I think the best ideas you have had are an M3, or 911. Seriously. Real cars... not boy racer crap
