These are getting damn cheap now :O

TT's for under 30k (as low as 25k)....

GT3's havent come down much and the RS's 50-60k

Love this http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/904687.htm

If it came to it i'd prefer a 993 C2 S over a 996 C2 / C4... but its hard to ignore the car you'd be getting (T Turbo, GT3) for the same price (maybe less) as 993 Turbo.

this - http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/468237.htm

is just slightly more expensive (43k compared to 42.5k) than the Black MK2 996 GT3 Comfort above

It wouldnt be an investment The 993 would lose less money from now on. They havent lost much for years. My 911 seems to be going up in value now (going by prices on PH etc)

The 996 is the last model of porsche i'd have.

993>997>964>930>996

They're just so... average and characterless.

Theres a reason. Nobody wants them as mush as the rest, plus the headlight design is horrible. Even porsche knew that hence the 997s round lights.

yup, the 997 has a more 'classic' look to it. Wouldnt call a 996 horrible though, just not their best.

Its like a Danni Minogue to a Kylie....

I'm not a fan of the styling of the 996 but I'd still have one.

I suppose you could say that.

You'd be beter off with a 993 C2/4S. The majority of people i've spoken to reckon they're better built. You just have to listen to the sound each car makes when the doors shut. The 993 sounds ace
And as previously stated they will hold their money better.

Here are a couple of pics of my dads old Ocean Blue C2S.

It depends what you want to use it for i guess; i did look at the 993's before i bought mine but because i wanted to use it everyday for work (50 mile round trip) the 996 was better suited. I have to agree thee 993 has a special look but i think if i had one i would want it tucked away in the garage and use as a toy

porsches seem to hold their money well, even in this recession the 997 gt2 is still staying around 150k but ferrari, aston, lambo, bently etc all seem to be loosing value at an alarming rate.

993 turbo is a firm favourite of mine but the 996 turbo or gt3 arent ugly cars although the 997 is better looking.

just mulling over that just now...

PX mine for a 993 C2 S for example...

I dunno Mine doesnt owe me anything, costs fuck all to run.

I'd think i'd like to keep both if I was to buy one. Not looking to buy one, but i'd like one in a few years. I see Porsches as much more usuable compared to the likes of a Ferrari 308/328 for example.
