My 1.8 SRI with a Z18XE gets 38MPG but all i do is motorway miles.
i have done some research about it and the 1.8 is a very thursty engine and gets about the same MPG as the 2L.
out of a full tank (about 45 leters) i get 380-400 miles which is not to bad

I put £20 in my Coupe on Monday, I've done about 130 miles & its still nowhere near the red light.
When prices were £1.20 a litre I managed to get about 130ish.

The only petrol Astra Coupe G I would own is the VXR...
Other than that the best engine IMHO is the 1.9 CDTI PS150 as that has performance and economy...

MY mate has a 1.8 Astra Coupe and gets better mpg than that, mostly town driving but sometimes dual carriageways.
How have you been driving to get 21mpg out of it

In my eyes, you buy a car because you like it, either how it looks, what features it has etc. MPG is just a bonus or a loss. Its probably right at the bottom of the list when i look for a car.

Made of money?
People have to budget things, i could of bought a 3.0 omega for knokcing about in, but it would of cost me a bomb to get to work every day, and im sure alot of people who have to do bit of commuting think the same.
