Basically a mate of mine is on about buying a brand new car, he's got a slightly played with and generally well looked after Ibiza Cupra 1.8 turbo at the mo, gets a gunning quite a bit but he doesn't really skimp on keeping it running or anything... Exhaust on it, remapped, dump valve, rear spacers, new clutch and flywheel (G60 one), cambelt and water pump been done etc.
Anyways regardless of mods etc, he's on about trading it in as he aint got the time to sell privately or the space for it either... so I've said if the dealer offers a crap price but he does want the new car to let me know the price... It's a Y plate and I've got a feeling they'll offer around 2500 quid. I'd be able to match that ok really I think.
Worth me going for at that price? Decent cars? I know the handlings a bit naff and the engines a bit characterless but for the money not much seems worth a go really bar an old 172 or something.
Thought I'd ask peoples opinions anyway. Only thing I don't like is it's red lol, I hate red after owning my red sport!

bro and mate both have ibiza cupras. both cars haven't had any problems and run sweet as a nut, can be thirsty with a remap tho

If its decent, clean car then 2.5k is a steal! Minters are still going for 4-6k!

But it's getting a worthy 172 for the money too, I'd only want a Phase 2 really, the old Phase 1's look a bit dated and naff looking interior for my tastes really.

Do it. They hold their value too so you won't even lose out if you sold it a year down the line.

I've started to care what people think because I get plenty of grief for it lol Also, kids car...so little chav kids keep trying their luck breaking into Corsa's thinking they know all the tricks.
Just a bad stigma I want away from really.
Nic, I like your humour, very dry - you were banned from here before weren't you? I think I can see why lol

Get yourself on seatcupra.net - plenty of info on there regarding common faults etc... 2.5k is very good if its good condition + they look ace in red.

main faults, coilpacks, dodgey stereo volume knob, window regulators, boot not locking, rear wash pipe coming off, rust at bottom of rear screen, ext temp sensor going.
But apart from that, they are fine!

Said the dealer has offered 3.5k so he's put his order in for new car and put his Ibiza as PX.
