does anyone know any websites with info on these? quite fancy a project. a mate has a gsxr 1100 engine for cheap...

by the look of it, you need to get a kart, chop it in half, add a bit here, weld a bit there, plonk the engine on, and hold on?

Have seen a few and hold on is an understatement lol would love a go of one, best one i saw had an R1 engine.

some ive seen have been extended by about 4 foot, looks terrible

the gixxerkart had a small extension, the R1 kart had it mounted alongside the driver, in a normal superkart chassis

yeah it'd only need extended enough for the engine to fit in, no crazy lengths.

The theory behind it sounds very easy. Get a strong frame, bolt the engine in and make a basic drive to the rear wheels. Obviously actually doing it is a different story.

Not sure how you'd configure the gear changes. A lever, or a button? Taking your hand off a Go Kart steering wheel and staying in control isn't that easy as you are always fighting it.
