The daft thing is, there are cars ten times as old as his, that are just as clean.
I appreciate the work he's put into it, but i don't think it deserves a feature.

Bet he shit himself when he saw the sticky pads going on his paint and windscreen.
Time for laser/paint depth tools and scratch finder technology to be all over it

This is true mate, I wouldn't give it its own feature in a normal edition of the mag, but this is about the special editions and they've obviously seen his somewhere and decided it was a super clean version that they could use in their special edition issue so it's fair enough imo. It wouldn't be the same if they just went to their local showroom, took some pics of a 'ring Astra and featured it. Who would read about it, who would care, it doesn't even have an owner so it's just any other Astra Nurburgring edition.

Yes but its also nothing like the special edition it once was... Lok at the other examples, the MK2 GTE etc, they all look like original versions, that just takes the piss out of the other cars tbh..

Sorry what? Tell me the difference between a Champion Edition Mk2 GTE and a normal GTE? Ah yes, different colour, Connolly Leather interior, limited run and some fancy graphics all of which the Nurburgring Edition has and more
Nothing mechanically changed on the GTE, at least the VXR has a Remus and some light weight wheels.
You are saying it's ok for a GTE to have a few fancy bits to make it a "Special Edition" but 20 years later an Astra VXR can't?
Have a word.

With regards to Marcs car, totally gay. Don't like the wheels, look even worse which I didn't think possible and hate the install, goes against everything the Nurburgring Edition is supposed to be about, and the chrome? Well, that is just horrendous.
But Marc likes it and that is what counts.

Wrong end of the stick... i was meaning his one is nothing like the car was when he bought it, as in the original Nurburgring. Hes added so much tat etc that it may as well not be a limited edition. My comment about the GTE meant that it looked near on the way it came whereas his looks nothing like the Nurburgrings do as standard..

There are two types of people in the world.
Those who understand and appreciate detailing, and those who don't.

This statement doesn't apply here I don't think, it's not as if it's some 10 year old nail.

If it was a master piece of modern auto design then I could understand anal levels of cleaning but most people are spending £1000's keeping some average car super clean, but whats the point?
