Any car can have the problems you've had with the corsa.

It was a company car that would have been driven hard every single mile of it's life, if you get a cheap polo it could be the same.

I always thought ex-co cars were good as even though they tend to have been ragged about, they also seem to have been serviced correctly and what not?

Service isn't going it help the things that fail at all TBH. If it gets ragged from cold everyday, the turbo is going to fail, and mine has...

Can you not just put a new turbo on Monster? Or has something gone with it?

tbh, I was looking at Polo's a while back when avoiding doing Uni work. I was looking at the newer 1.9TDi GT's, which have a very similar looking grill to the Golfs.

I then looked at Ibiza's, and for the same 1.9TDi FR or Sportrider, it was over £1k cheaper.

If you are going VAG, I'd go Seat tbh. Same, not the same badge yet cheaper.

The price differences were pretty much the same with the 1.4TDi's.

Consider Fiestas as well - 1.4TDCi is supposed to be quite good - not heard too many horror stories either.
