Got a 110bhp seat toledo recently.

Got an £80 postal remap from ebay, yes even cheaper than my last one

Put a few hundred miles on it now including a trip up to the North of Scotland with the cruise on 90 the whole way and thought I'd give a wee report.

Pain in the arse to get to the ecu on the toledo/leon, its under the scuttle which means wipers and scuttle have to come off.
Noticed when I was stripping it down that the washer jets are in the scuttle and have the pipe connected, made a note that i'd forget to connect it.

Sent ecu away (using the same box I used for my fabia ecu ) guy mapped it and sent it back net day.

Fitted in the cold and dark as I couldn't move the car into the garage without connecting the ecu and had no lights.
All back together, you guessed it, forgot the washer pipe

Finally got it all back together, no management lights, started first time.

Definitely pulls much better, not noticed any extra black smoke, not felt the clutch slipping or anything close to slipping, not too aggressive a map.

Don't have any mpg readings before map but over half a tank of normal driving I got around 44mpg (remap throws computer off quite a bit, was reading 51) still got 100 odd miles left in my tank from my trip but looks to be 50+ mpg atm.

All in all an excellent value for money mod and as i've always said, not a chance in hell that anybody with a dodgy rolling road can get enough extra out it to justify another £400.

Thanks for reading, recommend it to anybody.

Post it last thing Monday (last collection is half 4 I think ) get it back with whatever time special delivery comes on Wednesday, normally about 8 here but guaranteed before 1.

Royal mail managed to mess up the delivery of mine but that's not the guys fault.

Just search for postal remap on ebay, they'll all be using the same files.

Hmm...Things like that bother me. I know you've had success but I'm not sure I'd risk it.

They all use the same maps brett, i'd even put more trust in some of the guys like this than some of the bigger well known companies which i've heard bad stories about.

Not many people do the saab tuning and when I was reading up on that it seemed that the few tuners who did do it where making terrible maps, people with a laptop and some time were doing better on their own.

Was ollie not talking about regal or somebody blowing up all the vxr engines?

I know different things apply in every different situation but so far my experience has been very good

Well, I dunno. Sending a few hundred quids worth of ECU to some guy in bradistan accompanied by £100 of my finest pounds and being without a car for a few days makes me nervous.

I think I prefer the old school 'drive onto rolling road, drive away' method.

I imagine a lot of people are like that, I was the first time, I like a bargain though so chanced it.

Apart from the posting thing, which I admit is dodgy, especially with Royal Mail, I made sure it was insured for enough to cover me, It's actually safer flashing it on a bench than it is in the car using a laptop.

Its a generic map its no different to driving to courtney or Regal and them uploading a map. All you do is cut out their labour for doing next to nothing.

You will find unless its a custom written map the car wont make it near a set of rollers

That's a lot when that guy will do a TT for £130, if you could do without the car for the 2/3 days that is.
