I know what your going to say but its happened now...

I was doing absolutely booting it through the medway city estate tonight and at one point had 75mph in what I think is a 30 zone. I had a mate and the bird in the car and the tunes blaring.

The blue lights came flashing and I pulled over, the officer grabbed me and pulled me out of the car and slammed me against the rear quarter. Screaming at me and told me I was driving like a "dick". His female colleague took my mate and girlfreinds details whilst still in the car and the male officer just proceeded to shout at me repeating "give me one reason why I shouldn't take you to court". I just bowed my head and said "im sorry, I can't".

He took all my details, repeating how he could "do me". Then his colleague stated that I already had 3 points on my license - which are for having a mate on the back of a 50cc moped. She then carried on talking to my mate/bird about how they should disregard me as a friend for "doing this to them".

He then told me to "get off this estate" and "go home". I thanked him for "bringing this to my attention". The female officer told the mate/bird "she will make it her mission to take my license off me and get me off the road" because "I'm a disgrace". She told me "she doesn't care what he does, I'm not getting away with this".

I don't know what to do. I'm 17 and if I do get the points I'll be off the road for another 2 years. I will also have to re-take my test.

They said they clocked me at 75mph on their "camera".

Don't know what to do or think? Surley if they were going to do me they would have done it there and then?

I know I was in the wrong, it was a long straight, clear road. I was in control of the car and everyone had their seat belts on...

Thanks very much, really would like your opinions on this!

- Joe.

2 years and a re-taking of your driving test sounds fair, you obviously didnt get it first time round.

sorry but you should't be doing that sort of speed in a 30 if you hit anyone they would now be dead so count yourself lucky that way but i think you looking at 2 yr ban and points on you licence when you get it back and a fine but better than getting done for death by dangerous driving sorry to be too the point but its serious

As said mate, 75mph in a 30 isn't big or clever and you're not going to get anyone thinking you're cool, especially on this site. Didn't you know that absolutely no one on here goes over the limit? Or so you'd think. I couldn't give a fuck, but you should understand that there's a time and a place for it, a Monday night in a 30mph zone is neither.

Was it a panda car that stopped you or the traffics? If it's a panda car you'll get away with it unless you confessed to the speed you were going - they've got no way of clocking your speed as far as I know.

If it was the traffics, expect a hefty fine and a years ban or 4 points. Either way you'll lose your license. A mate got caught doing 61 in a 30, then the day he got out of court, on the way home got caught at 63 in a 30. He ended up with 8 points altogether and lost his license - no ban though.

I know I was wrong, doing that sort of speed. It was 12:30am and there were no pedestrians about. Or other cars on the road.

I don't know the difference between a panda car or a traffic?

It was a Skoda estate I think. I know they all have cameras but I didn't think they were allowed to use speed guns without the signs on the road stating that there are speed cameras!

Either way, he let me go. She said she will have me tracked on ANPR cameras and then if I ever do go over the limit I will be "stopped" because "I don't think you should have a license, in fact I think you're a disgrace".

I would also just like to add that I know that estate very well because I work there. I always stick to the limit on the public roads and when I drove to Southend the other night at 1am I stuck to 70 all the way!

I have been caught out doing something I don't usually do!

Thanks, Joe.

Exactly, pisses me off something awful, half these folks are sitting at 55mph in a 70 zone watching their MPG

Oh, and 75 in a 30 is a tad excessive

your probably fucked mate unless you are very lucky. the only thing i can say is that their reaction towards you (although spot on) was the kind of reaction they use to scare people. maybe if you are lucky they were just trying to shit you up to knock some sense into you. if you do get away with it then i hope you learn from it still. if it were upto me and you drove like that again i'd take your licence away for good.

means bollocks, i am sorry but that kind of excessive speed anywhere, i dont care if you are Lewis Hamilton, your excuses are nothing more than excuses, you've not offered any reasoning (rushing to a hospital for example) that would be more understanding, quite frankly you were out for a laugh but in a wreckless manner, risking the innocent lives of your passengers and other road users!

deserve what is coming to you

oh well in that case every murderer should be released from prison, a silly high % of murders are from a friend or family NOT a crazed murderer who keeps killing, a both victim and murderer know each other and the murderer has always been a model citizen until that moment.
you are claiming to be a model driver, does that let you off?

no! you did the crime and deserve to do the time! enjoy standing at the bus stop!

The speed reading is part of the video evidence. Like on police camera action etc.
