GTF with the gay comments.

Kirsty and I are camping with friends and family 3 times this year, thought for a bit of a hoot we'd get a cabrio to have a laugh in this year.

I though about getting one value = to ibiza, but then not so keen on that idea.

So I thought about something cheap and cheerful (also cheapish to run and insure cos of Kirsty being 18). Shortlist is a Mk1 Punto or a Mk3 Astra drop top.

I'm more tempted towards the astra, I'm thinking lowered on a set of Softstars

Looking at the 1.6 on the later spec ones - I assume they are 16v's? (Same/Similar to the 1.6 16v Corsa?)

What are these engines like? Anyone know? Power? Problems? Economy?

Anything to watch out for with the car itself?

Oh, and selling it after the summer? Doubt i'd want to keep it!

Any advise would be appreciated

Thing is, they are rare as hens teeth, the tax is the only thing cheaper (£45) and a decent one would exceed the cost of my Ibiza.

Yous is lovel though, fancy a swap

306's seem to hold their value well, plus they are ALL 1.8 or 2.0's

Bugger getting a vauxhall! A cheap yet acceptable looking soft top imo is the Pug 306. The Punto's look wank and the Astra's don't look great either
