who has one?? mk4's

im thinking about either the 2.0 turbo or just an 1.8, the turbo because i want turbo!, or just the 1.8 because lower insurance plus its bit quicker than what i have now! & roof down in summer, wooahh. i think the turbo is going to be to quick for me, & much more high maintenance considering im used to a 1.4 corsa! ???

but it must have leather, ive seen one with parking censors to that might be handy to , haha that was lmtd edition one though - but its veryy pretty!

anything inparticular regarding problems i need to look out for with these??
i might be going to look at a mates one thats for sale at some point just to have a nosey and test drive. thats a 2.0 turbo one though.

If they're as similar to the Coupe as they look then they're pretty good cars. Can be hard to tell where the back end though, if you reckon you're going to reverse into stuff then get sensors. Either that or put the roof down every time you reverse

Up to you what engine you get really, if you fancy spending the extra then go for it

Decent cars to be fair, pretty reliable, interior is a bit boring, but nicely put together. Nice range of engines, nice lookers.

Out of interest does it have to be Vauxhall? What about an MX5, lovely little cars. Although only 2 seaters.

You should go and test drive both, the 1.8 will feel like your corsa very quickly, the 2.0 wont cost any more to maintain as both use pretty much the same part's which im sure warren find's on daily basis in the bin's @ work.

Be warned the back's are high on all astra's, so reverse sensor's could be a great help

well iw as thinking for ages i would just drive it to work and back, rather than going shopping and having to park! in small places

is the 1.8 sluggish because of the weight?

yes, like i said power wise it will feel like your 1.4 very quickly. The 1.8 is a tunable engine with alot of £ where as the 2.0 is quick good in standard form. It's not mega fast, you are probilly used to Rich's which is in another leage from a standard astra turbo

well my freind has one for sale , a 2litre turbo , so once i can sort out a mini test drive i shall ask him, if i like it, then i will decide

the one with parking censors is soooo lovely .. bit to far away though, and i really need to sell my car first to help to buy it. it will probably be gone by then, ihave had no interest so far for my car poor thing

nice Phi, my aunty has one. She is the worst driver in the western world so you should have no problem.

Interior is solid if a tad dated. If your not fussed about speed get the 1.8 get an SE as they come with decent seats and wheels IIRC

Go to a dealer and test drive there's, then if the dealer will do a deal on the astra, they are crying out for small hatches in PX at the mo so you could bag a good deal.

I traveled 300 mile's to get my new car, and 300 back and 300 to go and get it and then 300 bringing it back. In the uk no car is too far, If you where from Africa i would agree

A car is their to be driven Phi, it's all about getting a deal going on. If you can you might be better putting standard wheel's and spring's back on as it would ad £400 say to money you have. Give them a call, tell them your interested in the astra and what kind of price they will give you for the corsa.

1.8's arnt slow, slower then hatchback as there pulling the heavier softop, but more than fine for the job of driving to the shops, lets face it, its never gonna be driven fast is it.

but even then the 2.0t's arnt fast standard,

all cars have problems, 1.8's eat mass air meters and o2 sensors, even ecus!

every 2.0 turbo even test driven never boosts smoothly, have flat spots, boost flutcates
