wana spend about 4k on a new car, something sensible and newer than a corsa B as mines a money pit and i cant be bothered with it anymore.
Preferably 02-onwards, reliable, cheap to run...any ideas?
Was thinking a MK4 golf 1.6/1.9 TDi
or
Alfa 147 1.6/TDi

You have a Corsa B, 4k to spend and want cheap to run. I say a Corsa C - 1.2, 1.4 or 1.3D, possibly even a 1.7D.
I'm sure with that budget you could pick up a low mileage 06/56 plate in the current climate. Possible aiming more towards 1.4 or 1.2 as they were more popular.

shop around fuckwit. plenty for sale and being about 8 years old for one of the early ones is a bargain.
and yes the gsi came in a turbo!!!!
why buy a ford that will fall to bits or an alfa that will spend more time being fixed?
