me and a few of my mates are thinking of going this year, and to make it a bit of holiday out of it, was just asking for some general information on it all really. E.g where to stay, costs, how you got there and any other information please

Not 6k cash on you, you need to have access to money just incase you crash and need to pay for damage to the armco/track. There's a thread on page 2 in here on it I think.

Just make sure you have cash on credit cards should the unimaginable happens.

This is where I usually stay, getting to know the people there quite well. Have a garage and tools you can borrow if you have a major problem, and it's the closest one to the entrance (so if the track gets shut you can go back to the hotel and wait around there).
Rooms are reasonably priced, the food is ok but a bit disorganised, good little bar with GT4 and a pair of wheels to remind yourself of the corners the night before you go on track too.
Oh, and go here:

...for this:

...before you leave.

I filled up at Dover, then in Belgium, and that got me to the Ring. so about 120 quid I reckon. I brimmed it in Adenau on the way back to Zeebrugge, and made it with 2 litres to spare from a 76 litre tank, doing about a ton or more most of the way.
In a Corsa, £200 should be plenty.

Depends how you drive of course, My mate was filling his MR2 turbo to every 2/3 of a tank in mine. Smaller tank I think, but he also had 50bhp less back then.
