I'm pretty sure I've read on there that all wheels have to be off the ground with a non-taxed/mot'd car.
You can always run the risk though of not getting caught.

I *think* that a towed car is still being driven. Therefore needs MOT and tax. You can drive to a pre-booked MOT (and back) without MOT or tax though.
The speed limit with a trailer is 50mph. Although a towed car isn't a trailer so I don't know on speed limits. But personally I'd stay off motorways or even fast A roads.

You'll still need to be insured. And people aren't stupid. You can't book an MOT in Edinburgh and drive there MOT and Tax free.

Know anyone with trade plates? If so ask if you can borrow them and stick one in the rear window of the towed car

if your towing the car with a driver in it , it must be mot d taxed and insured or the driver can be done for driving without them
if its towed with an A frame /dolly it is classed as a trailer and doesnt need them as nobody is driving it but you need to have a licence that includes trailers and a suitable car/van to tow with
speed limits are same as towing a trailer 60 on a motorway ect

dont think it has to be as nobody is in the car someone i know used to tow his track car with a A frame for that reason you will need a light board ect tho

You dont need tax or MOT to tow a car on an A-frame
My mate picks cars up from all over the country with no tax and mot and always been fine.

Unless you are being recovered it's illegal without tax/mot/insurance from what I can see.
