is pretty interesting..

The Elite is the "Top Range" and comes with all the new tech like
Dynamic headlight beam levelling
Electrically foldable mirrors
Electrically adjustable driver seat
AFL

but the SRi 4x4 Turbo sounds more fun

Lowered and uprated suspension
ergonomic front seats with extendable seat cushion
FlexRide (sport and touring mode)
aluminium pedals
leather sports wheel

The more interesting points are, the 4x4 system in normal mode is 95% front and 5% rear.. In sports mode it changes to 40% front 60% rear it also stiffens up the suspension and throttle for a more responsive drive

The 2.0l Turbo has 220PS and 350Nm
The 2.8l V6 Turbo has 260PS and 350Nm (which i guess is limited)


Sounds pretty good to me.. can get optional extras like 20" wheels which really sets the car off

saw 2 of the elites at enterprise on monday when my mate took a hire car back. front looks slightly out of proportion i thought, side on it looked amazing and i'd happily live in the interior! oh and the badge on the front looks fucking wank (imo of course)

Steinemtz/AC Schnitzer are clearly dumbing down producting & design. Those alloys on the second Insignia pic are almost identical to ones available for BMW's


And I think the Insignia looks front heavy, like the old Chrysler Neons used to.

I can't help but think it looks like a Toyota from the front and a BMW from the side. Still, it's a massive improvement from recent Vauxhall design, it looks like the designers have put their rulers down in favour of a French curve...

its really down to the wire really.. Astra VXR Nurburg or Insignia SRi 4x4

will wait a few months for the Insignia so i can potentially save some money getting 2nd hand..
They are doing 0% finance though (i think)

Ask Vauxhall, thats the best way to get the most honest answer I think.

Like the conversation i had with the SEAT dealer:

"OKOK, the new Ibiza is nice, when is the diesel coming out then?"

"The 1.4TDi is out in March, Ecomotive, no road tax etc etc."

"No, a propper diesel please"

"That'll be june/july sir"

drove a insignia on saturday at brother in laws work. was fairly impressed tbh, was 2.0 turbo, power delivery was extremely smooth and felt sooo comfy!

Well the astras on 37,000 miles, so no Although warranty is due up soon, so expect problems

How on earth have they got 350nm torque from the 4 pot 2.0, the same as a 2.8 6 pot????? Typo surley? Its only a few peak hp down on the 2.0 VXR lump, but huge amounts of torque (astras 236lb ft, conversion to nm???).

Typo on the original site??? I can't see them having the same torque figures.

People use the NM figure cos it sounds more impressive (My car has 240lb/ft tourque - about 320MN)

Hmmmm.

Usually you sacrifice top end power for lower end torque, but 17bhp peak lost, isn't all that much for the amount of torqed gained.

Interesting, will see how that engine bares in the other chassis when its handed down.

Honestly, on the UK roads, how much of the "top end power" do you use.

Much rather have that useable torque to absolutly smash that Saxo VTS off the line

The latest Audi 2.0TFSI has 350NM torque with 211PS.

Thats a 4 pot turbo engine too so dont think its a typo
