headgasket went so got it fixed all great £800 all in
now the powersteering pump has gone, dealer only part £365+vat fitting


I NOW HATE PEUGEOTS!!!

bloody hell these lil french numbers arent sounding great nowadays, a work colleuge at our place hers 106 blew up today on the a38.

that 206...use SURE its dealer part only? cant u go scrappy? or check around first surely a pump from another car wud fit mate? aka citeroen version or another pump similiar?

yeh its electric so cant recon, hence new dealer only.

not worth the hassle of buying a fucked 2nd hand one and finding out when fitting paid for..

f.y.i. 307 2.0 hdi and been without car since 22nd dec

My Astra had more problems in the 5k miles I did in it than my Clio which I have done 32k in the last year in.

I'll tell you what happens, they lul you into a false sense of security and behave for a while, then when you think, actually it's not a bad car, that's when it kicks you in the gonads and robs all your money.

My brother had a 106 for 3 years, only part that got replaced other than service bits was the rocker cover gasket, he sold it too my cousin and she's had nothing but trouble, she's become almost a professional at being towed

£365 for a power steering unit, dont be daft mate, you'll pick one up from the brakers yard for £70 and it takes 30 mins to fit it.

I also never had to replace a single faulty part on my old 106 gti and I used it every day in all weathers fora year solid. Its just your donald duck when things go wrong with a car I had my ibiza cupra for 6 months and I had to spend £340 replacing parts on it

My old Saxo VTS and the VTR before that had no end of problems, head gaskets, bearings, suspension arms, leccy window not working, i gave up in the end and bought a ford
