Pow you're wrong
I'll tell you what happens, they lul you into a false sense of security and behave for a while, then when you think, actually it's not a bad car, that's when it kicks you in the gonads and robs all your money.
My brother had a 106 for 3 years, only part that got replaced other than service bits was the rocker cover gasket, he sold it too my cousin and she's had nothing but trouble, she's become almost a professional at being towed

The key here is "she" caused these problems

£365 for a power steering unit, dont be daft mate, you'll pick one up from the brakers yard for £70 and it takes 30 mins to fit it.
I also never had to replace a single faulty part on my old 106 gti and I used it every day in all weathers fora year solid. Its just your donald duck when things go wrong with a car I had my ibiza cupra for 6 months and I had to spend £340 replacing parts on it
