I'm hoping to get a 205 1.9 GTI next year for a bit of a toy. Until then though was chatting to a mate who reckons I should do a track day at Snetterton in my Vento for a laugh and experience (never done one before).
Never done a track day before and thought it would be good experience. I generally don't car too much about the car as it only owes me £300 so could push it to its limits! Handles like a barge though.
Should I do it?!

You will have more fun in that than you realise.
Did you see what Fad, James & William took to Nurburgring FFS and that was lapping quicker than a turbocharged Golf VR6
And it was parked up next to some of the most expensive machinery known to mankind.

you'll get a fair bit of dodgy looks if that shed is out on track with pricey cars.....
If your driving is safe and decent it should be a problem. You will get to know the track etc.... BUT it'll be a completly different drive to a 205
Drive like an arse and I cant see it lasting long before there are complaints.

We were cornering at the same speeds as a GT3, no complaints from the Porsche owner

Oh shit, I just looked at the pictures properly. Alex mate, you are probably better off waiting until you get the 205

erm, not being funny but there is a huge difference between driving a reasonable looking Astra at the Nurburgring and taking an absolute shed of a diesel Vento to Snetterton. Personally i wouldnt bother, its extra money towards the GTi so id just hold out.

Yes, I only saw the back of the Vento as I'm at work and had to skip past the pics.
I've changed my mind, the Astra didn't look an absolute wreck

Oh my god, is she going to be gracing a track near us soon?
And should we start planning for next years trip? I'm contemplating May time, April looks to dodgy with reports of snow.
