I travelled 400 mile round trip to Daniel's for my roof lining (derby to wigton, cumbria)
About 300 miles to essex/dartford tunnel for some alloys
About 100 miles for a boot lid of Wayne (Manchester)
About 300 miles for a strut brace from Olsrey (Cumbria)

depends on what car it was, if you're looking at fairly rare cars then you're going to have to be prepared to travel.

when i was looking in may/june i couldn't find any decent UK DC2s around my area so i had arranged to look at afew afew hours travel down south, would have meant a full day out driving and looking at cars but desperate times call for desperate measures.

fortunately one came up for sale in liverpool afew days before i was due to go looking at the others and it was perfect. the rest is history.
