alright people, i've decided for the 100th time i'm now going to get a new car! I want to spend only 4k, as i'm looking to move out after christmas. It has to be fast (the same or faster than a 106gti), it has to be comfortable, and it needs more room than the drivers seat as a 106. What do you lot recon I should go for? Insurance shouldn't be a problem. Cheers

Classic Impreza STi. More comfortable, and crushingly quick off the mark.

My Evos were some of the most reliable cars I've owned, not a chance of a 5 at 4k though! CTR is a good bet, 4k is pushing it though but very reliable motor..

I'm sure you would get a better Clio 182 for 4-5k than you would a CTR?

Clio 182 would be an obvious choice

Yeah buckets as standard. Better choice than Clio, I ran a CTR ragged for 86k miles and it honestly never missed a beat, was by far the strongest car I've ever owned and brilliant compared to my BMW...

Coming from a person that owned a Clio dCi - which was awful.

The 172/182 is a much much better car

I had a Clio DCI also. Mine was the 80 bhp model and it was a great car imo!

dont go and splash out on a 200sx unless its got an sr20 as the c18s are not reliable.

You wont get an Evo5 for 5k unless its a right dog, You could pick up a good evo4 for aroud 5k.

Really good cars handle good nice and quick aswell, we found that the evo was better than our impreza too

Maybe selling the ibiza very soon, Will be looking for 4k as it is, Its only a 1.4 but pretty nippy, and quite cheap to insure!

go for a CTR as long as you check that its not been crashed and the steering rack is fine and second gear isnt crunchy it will take what ever you can throw at it

182 is a very good car too but the CTR is equal and has that little bit more space you are after

Drives supercharged Tec with torque

The evo;s generally are, but is it worth the big premium you pay for them? Hence why people go for the scooby!
