Its a good idea I think; It helps to prevent people from getting into bad habbits when they first start driving.. To be honest I think it should be experience not age based. Drink driving is wrong but you are able to make much better judgements about your ability to drive after a drink when you are a more experienced driver.

Oh but I do also think a zero tollerence is a bit unfair because there are lots of things you can eat which contain alcohol.

This is a good idea imo.
I'm 26 and never have anymore than 2 bottles of lager when driving if any.

I'd disagree with that.
People no matter how old, class, colour, age proffesion, still drink and drive.
Its the persons mentality that decides whether they should drive, also lazyness and lack of adventure.
But I do agree its more of a teaching thing. Ban it completly for younger people, after a few years it'll become part of life, but the teaching and mentality is forced in, so future generations will be less likley to drink and drive.

There are people who will drink and drive regardless BUT there are also people who will think to them selves "oh well I can have one or two drinks and I will be ok" then over the years one or two becomes three or four and so on.. If a normal law obiding citizen has the mind set instilled into them that drinking anything and driving is going to risk their license they are less likely to get into the habit of having one or two and so on.

Its the older generation who do the majority of the drink driving.
Yes young ones will still do it but not half as much as the older generation.

Do you not think that this will be like the times you said "I can finally get served in a pub" "I can finally buy cigarettes"... "I can now have a few beers before I drive home"
I cant see it putting people in the right mindset to never drink drive, quite the opposite infact.

tbh i think its bad as if you drink then it means that you cant drive the next day AT ALL. maybe lower it by zero is a bit of a low number tbh

i completely disagree.
if in those impressionable years when alcohol and driving are legal and new the two shouldnt be mixed. at the "mature" age of 21 the control of alcohol drinking/abuse is more settled than at 18 and the "wish" to "show off" with alcohol and driving (whether seperately or together) has gone, or certainly more restrained than at 18.
i admit there will be a thought of "im 21 now i can have A drink round Tom's tonight" but with the maturity of age and experience with alcohol there will be limited wanting to drink excessively and then drive home

It should be how it is in most of europe, i.e. Drink OR drive. any alcohol in the sample and its a BIG fine. Most europeans dont drink and drive (not the places i go to anyways, or the peoples i know) because of it.

bad news for the people who use mouthwash!
Dont think this is the right direction to take, there needs to be some sort of social re-education! For both young and old.

I dont agree with it, alot of folk will get done the morning after when theyve slept the alcohol off & are fine but will still blow a tiny amount.........not enough to get done for just now.
Also another nail in the coffin for UK pub trade.
Nice one government...........wonder how they'll fuck with peoples lifes next!!
