Well, I've had it for a while now... just a random question, when i go around a roundabout why does my handbrake light come on?!

Also... my petrol needle wobbles about... really irritating as i dont know how much petrol i've got half the time!!!

AND... Sorry lol, does anyone else have the same problem when filling up..
I pull the handle to put petrol in and it clicks as if to say its full... lol i have to hold it at a certain point and it takes me about 10 mins to put a tenner in lol

Thanks

the hand brake light, i think is you need to check your brake fluid level, or your rear brake shoes are worn/ need adjusting,

And the petrol gauge's in corsa's are crap, its because it is just a float in the tank, and when you brake or accelerate the floats moves.

so i cannot do anything about the wobble? hehe no worries, its not a big issue anyways..!!

How much would i be looking at spending on new brakes shoes if that was the case?

sorry for all the questions!

Mine flashes the handbrake light, only when going round right hand bends

Can't imagine it's anything to do with levels/brake shoes.

It's as if there's a connection being made by the inertia(wrong word?) of the car going round a corner.

Flashing hand brake light (as I've read on here many-a-time) is actually because your brake fluid is low.

As for the petrol filling problem, I believe there is something in the filler neck which may need replacing.

And the wobbly petrol gauge - as said, always does this when petrol is low

handbrake light is more likely a loose handbrake cable - i had this on mine

the handbrake/dash light are not connected to the brake fluid section of the brake system - some1 correct me if i'm wrong

had yhe same problem on mine - changed all the cables and new shoes etc and all was good

I'd agree, mine only started doing it when the handbrake became looser.

""Well, I've had it for a while now... just a random question, when i go around a roundabout why does my handbrake light come on?!""

Top up the brake fluid, this happened to mine when i changed to bigger discs, top-up and it'll sort itself out..... Hopefully!

""Also... my petrol needle wobbles about... really irritating as i dont know how much petrol i've got half the time!!!""

Mine even tends to go up or down slightly if breaking, or going up or down hills etc, how harsh is the wobbling in yours?

""AND... Sorry lol, does anyone else have the same problem when filling up..

My dads corsa does this, for now just hold the nossle slightly more out than normal and it'll be ok, but there is some sort of pressure sensor thats there (i'm not 100%) but that's the cause of it i'd imagine.

And welcome to C/S

I had the handbrake light issue when my old front pads are low, new pads job done... said pads are now low and light comes on mostly on right handers

Something to do with it adjusting fluid level if theres less pad I believe?

Brake fluid is low hence the light, there is little sensors in the resiviour to tell you it's low and wants topped up. Also check the brakes and rear shoes/cylinder's as if they fluids low is telling you there's a leak or something is wearing down hence more fluid displacement.

If the light is still on after, check and clean the contact switch under the lever and make sure it's a good connection.

Mine doesn't flash so much as go on when turning - that's the only reason I wouldn't think it was anything to do with levels.

But if it's flashing all the time, even when going straight on, that's a different story.

If its coming on when turning corners i'd put money on the fact your brake fluid needs topping up

Theres a float switch in the reservoir, when you go round a corner the fluid surges to one side causing the level in that corner to rise/fall

When its low enough it makes the light come on. Shouldnt need topping up much
